IBAN & BIC Generator produces test IBANs that follow each country's registry structure — the right length, digit and letter positions, valid ISO 7064 mod-97 check digits, and, for countries that embed a national key (Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Monaco, San Marino), a correctly computed key too, so strict validators accept them. Each IBAN can come with a matching BIC/SWIFT code, optionally marked as a SWIFT test BIC. The Validate tab checks any IBAN or BIC you paste, explains exactly what's wrong when it fails, and splits a valid one into bank code, branch and account. Bank codes are random, so the numbers belong to no real account — they're for payment forms, fixtures and demos. Everything runs locally; nothing is uploaded.

Will a generated IBAN pass my bank's or my payment provider's check?
It passes every structural check: country format, length, the international mod-97 check digits and the national key where one exists. A provider that also looks the bank code up in a registry may still reject it, because the bank and branch codes are random. That's the point — the IBAN is fake.
What's the difference between an IBAN and a BIC?
An IBAN identifies one account (country + check digits + national account number). A BIC — also called a SWIFT code — identifies the bank itself: four letters for the institution, two for the country, two for the location and an optional three-character branch. SEPA transfers usually need only the IBAN; international wires often need both.
Why does the validator say "valid" for an IBAN that doesn't exist?
Validation can only check what's computable from the string: format, length and check digits. Whether an account is open behind those digits is something only the issuing bank can answer.
